...
We came down yesterday by train and walked about ten minutes to the house ... a really comfortable and well appointed home - again thanks to Gretchen and Scotty. They live here some of the time and when they are away, they rent the place out to holiday makers. Here are some interiors of 'Toad Hall'. Its full of lovely things and everything works.
This place is right on the river Arun, which runs throuh the village. There's a castle at the top of the town which we will be exploring over the next few days and wonderful old churches. But the town!!! Is so quaint and just exactly the kind of village you would expect to see in Old England.
We did some shopping for food at the local growers market this morning. All the locals are so friendly! It will save us some money and to be honest, it's nice to have home cooked meals. Not meaning to be unkind but the local fish and chips we had last night were woeful.
We have decided not to go scrambling about the country to visit Bath and Cornwall...just too much running around. We want to just sit tight here and explore this place. There's so much to see and do here why go anywhere else? We'll be here a week so we can relax and enjoy the place..
Thanks to those who are following this blog...it is fun to do and we are taking you along with us. We've heard about the rain back home...unbelievable!
