Now we are here in Limoux, in our third day.  (Maybe I'm forgetting one).  Typing this from the house that Scotty and Gretchen live, where I can access their internet connection. We are comfortably ensconced in a caravan by the river, which is very quiet and has plenty of room.

Here are some of our new mates here... Scotty is at home getting some sleep after a major night with car hassles getting the family from the airport.  These are all lovely people.

We have been given a van to drive around in by our outrageously generous hosts, (do we owe them or what??!!) which we have been getting used to.  This has had it's advantages and disadvantages, the latter being some extra grey hairs for both of us!
The good part is we can be independant, and spent the day yesterday over at Carcassonne, which has a huge castle which we explored.  This was good, but you start to feel as though you are in some sort of Disneyland set, because it's extensively rebuilt and you can tell where the new building work is, because it doesn't look like the original. The tourist numbers were fine, really.  It's early in the season for major crowds.

That was a pretty exhausting day, what with the driving around, getting lost, trudging 'round the castle, finding the "gare" (railway station to book our tickets across to Vallauris and Italy) so we had to find a nice cool spot to have a cold beer.  Naturally.    I don't know if I will do another post for a few days.  Maybe in Vallauris, but most probably not until La Meridiana in Tuscany.    Ah, the difficulties and trials we have to go through!
